Play it safe

• Set a budget before you start, and only bet money you can afford to lose.
• Decide how much time you'll spend, and stop when you reach it.
• Never chase losses. No alert, from us or anyone, makes a loss "due" to come back.
• Don't bet when you're upset, stressed, tired or drinking.
• Don't borrow money to bet, and don't bet money meant for bills or savings.
• Use the tools your sportsbook offers: deposit, loss and time limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion.

Signs it may be becoming a problem

• Betting more than you planned, or needing bigger bets to feel the same excitement.
• Chasing losses, or feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
• Hiding your betting, or lying about how much you spend.
• Borrowing money, missing bills, or betting affecting your work, sleep or relationships.

Take a break or stop

• Most US states and Canadian provinces run self-exclusion programs that block you from licensed sportsbooks for a period you choose. Your sportsbook or the helplines above can point you to yours.
• Blocking apps can stop gambling sites and apps on your devices.
